Evaluating a bibliography of a multi-faceted discipline like business history is a daunting task. There are bound to be omissions that are discomfiting to specialists in a particular area while certain topics will be covered in greater breadth and depth if only because of contributors' research interests and personal predilections. Notwithstanding, this review will focus on three more substantive questions: Is the biography a valuable tool for research? Is it sufficiently comprehensive and complete? Does it fulfil the editors' stated objectives? Importantly, International Bibliography of Business History is successful in all three areas. The biography provides a wonderful starting point for embarking on a new research track. Entries are listed alphabetically by author within major topical and/or geographical categories and can be scanned quickly. For example, 123 books on "Printing and Publishing" are assigned to the following categories: General, UK, Rest of Europe, USA, and Rest of World. Similarly, 172 works on textiles are classified as Early Modern, UK Cotton, UK Wool, UK Finished Goods etc., Europe (excl. UK), USA, Latin America, and Rest of World.
