Barrett has now completed his two-volume commentary on Acts, thus both completing the ICC New Testament series (which never had a volume on Acts) and continuing the process of bringing the series up to date with new volumes. These two volumes constitute a monumental work of industry, by certainly one of the most accomplished commentary writers in English of this century. Few writers in the English-speaking world have produced so many commentaries oi~ enduring worth as Professor Barrett. When one considers that he has taken on arguably the heart of the New Testament as his commentating task, the feat is of even greater proportions. This is a commentary that is consistent with Professor Barrett's s approach as found in his other commentaries. In other words, there is much emphasis upon the nitty-gritty issues of the text, including text-critical commentary, comments on the Greek text, concern to explicate verse by verse, and plenty of theological interpretation.
