The day was filled with nine technical presentations and a tour of the flight simulation facilities. Abstracts of the technical presentations follow. R.M. BARNETT (NASA) Project VICCR Ames Research Center is in the process of restructuring the real-time computation system associated with the vertical motion simulator (VMS) and a recently acquired Singer/Link computer-generated image system. A CDC 7600 computer is the real-time computational element. A 10-MHZ burst-mode serial communication system has been developed and fabricated at Ames to link all the various resources (computers, visuals, and simulation) together. An interchangeable simulator cab system has also been developed for the VMS to enable rapid cab changeover and off-motion-base preparation of new simulation configurations. A high- productivity, very adaptable facility is the objective. VICCR is the project acronym. DONALD C. DUST (NASA) Computer-Generated Image System Ames has installed a Singer/Link digital image generator with the following basic performance characteristics : Processed edges
