Les Maladies Osseuses de l'Enfant

Les Maladies Osseuses de l'Enfant charidosis and mucolipidosis. The third portion is on secondary osseous disorders and includes a chapter on syndromes relating to problems with growth, chromosomal abnormalities, hematological problems, and neurological disorders. The last two chapters of this section were written by Claude Fessard. The fourth portion deals with acquired bony disorders and includes a chapter on certain daily orthopedic problems. These were written by Pierre Rigault. The final and fifth portion deals with osseous tumors and was written by Clement Faure and includes a chapter on general diagnosis of bone tumors, a chapter on benign pseudotumoral conditions and a chapter on malignant bone tumors. The illustrations in the book are of excellent quality. The radiographs are printed in the positive rather than in the negative form as is common in most European publications. Unfortunately for the radiologist, the number of radiographs is not as large as it might be, particularly in some syndromes that show a different spectrum of disease at various ages. The bibliography in the book is succinct and up to date and is well organized. In summary, I think that this is an important book for the pediatric radiologist or pediatrician interested in the congenital malformation syndromes and the bone dysplasias. ANDREW K.
