Heredity and early development.

Abstract

The first section of this chapter examines heredity. The section explores principles of heredity, process of heredity, traits which follow heredity laws; significance of heredity in child psychology, heredity and environment, and inheritance of acquired characteristics. The second section on prenatal development describes rapidity of growth, stages of development, significance of prenatal development, and prenatal influences. Development during the first year is explored in the third section. The section provides a description of the neonate and describes the behavior of the neonate.
