Biopsychosocial Therapy: Assessment and Case Conceptualization.
AbstractThe biopsychosocial assessment process is highlighted in this chapter. The chapter focuses on several key factors of the patient's experience of, and response to, his or her chronic illness. It details the key factors that are both useful predictors and markers of the patient's responsivity to treatment efforts. It also describes some commonly available self-report inventories that are useful adjuncts in the assessment process. Then it describes a method for developing a biopsychosocial case conceptualization and treatment plan. A case example illustrates this method.
