Abstract
Discusses some of the connections and disconnections between federal agencies and a relatively isolated group of Native Americans. The agencies are generally supportive, and some biological improvements are seen, but the cost appears to be a deterioration of psychosocial status. The need for the bureaucracy to sustain itself promotes continuation of dependency by the Cherokees. (2 ref)Preview Only.
