'On why it is useful to say that "the family is a unit of care" in family medicine: Comment on Carmichael's essay': A brief response to Ransom's comments

Abstract

Reply to commentary by D. Ransom on the current author's original article regarding issues surrounding the family as the unit of care in general medical practice. Carmichael thanks Ransom for his scholarly response which expands and integrates the issues surrounding the family as the unit of care in general medical practice. The current author also notes that on the issue of autonomy, it is not only a matter of personal preference of efficacy of technique, but also a matter of ethics.
