Abstract

In the article “Overshadowing and associability change,” by Peter M. Jones and Mark Haselgrove ( Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes , Vol. 37, No. 3, pp. 287-299), the number of sessions and trials given for Experiment 1 is incorrect.

In the Procedure section of Experiment 1, the sentence “During each of the following 12 sessions, all rats received AB+, X+, Y+, P− training.” should have read “During each of the following 14 sessions, all rats received AB+, X+, Y+, P− training.” In the same paragraph, the sentence beginning “Each session was 52 min long, with four trials of each type…” should have read “Each session was 52 min long, with six trials of each type…”. In subsequent experiments, where reference is made to rats receiving the same kind of training as in Experiment 1, these sessions also contain six trials of each type.

The Procedure section of Experiment 1 incorrectly states “Following these six sessions, a test session was carried out to assess the extent of overshadowing.” It should have read “Following the fourteenth session, a test session was carried out to assess the extent of overshadowing.”

These errors do not impact in any way thePreview Only.
