The information found in each of the printed catalogues has been converted to large ASCII text files. The presentation of both catalogues is identical, so only the use of the NCYC catalogue will be described. The PC version of the catalogue is reviewed here. It was supplied on a single 360 kbyte diskette (3.5-in. format is also available) as a compressed file in the ARC format. Three other files are provided. READ.ME is an electronic version of the 'two page' manual, PKUNPAK.EXE is a public-domain utility for decompressing NCYC90.ARC, the catalogue file, and LOOK.COM.
