Announcement: Spotlight on T-tubules and ryanodine receptor microdomain signalling in cardiac... Cardiovascular Research (2012) 95 doi:10.1093/cvr/cvs192 Announcement Spotlight on T-tubules and ryanodine receptor microdomain signalling in cardiac hypertrophy and failure to be published in May, 2013 Guest Editors: Karin Sipido (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Leuven, Belgium) Heping Cheng (Peking University, Beijing, China) Cardiovascular Research publishes occasional Spotlight Issues devoted largely to a specific research topic. These issues contain a number of expert reviews, and part of each issue is reserved for original research papers. All papers are subjected to the normal peer review process (an editorial decision is usually made within 22 days of receipt of any manuscript). The authors of accepted manuscripts are given the option of publication in a regular issue of the Journal or in the Spotlight Issue. A Spotlight on T-tubules and ryanodine receptor microdomain signalling in cardiac hypertrophy and failure is scheduled to appear in May, 2013. The issue will bring together a series of papers that highlight recent insights into the interaction between ultrastructure and functional adaptation in the microdomains for calcium in cardiac hypertrophy and failure. Preliminary topics of some of the invited review articles as related to this theme include: (1) Calcium microdomains within cardiomyocytes (2) Microarchitecture and development of the dyad (3) Channel trafficking and clustering (4) Ryanodine receptor organization and modulation in heart failure (5) T-tubule remodelling and its reversibility (6) Calcium release microdomains and mitochondria We invite you to contribute original manuscripts based on your research related to the above-mentioned topics to the upcoming Spotlight on T-tubules and ryanodine receptor microdomain signalling. Please select the article type “Spotlight Issue – Original Article” upon submission of your manuscript online.
