The Influence of Electric Shock Treatment (Ect) on the Acuity of Hearing
Abstract
During a follow-up examination of patients with neuroses who had been treated at the Psychiatric Clinic, one of these patients stated that her acuity of hearing had been weakened by therapy with electric shock. It concerned a patient with a neurosis characterized by conversions and with a history of many complaints and worries, and therefore it was not surprising that some new complaints had been added to the old ones. However, it was considered that this information should be examined further.
