Summary of Meeting Journal of NeuroWrology (1998) 4, 337 0 1998 Stockton Press All rights reserved 1355-0284/98 $12 00 http://www.stocktonpess.co.uk/jnv Summary of Meeting For the Eighth International Meeting of the Neuroscience of HIV Infection: Basic and Clinical Frontiers, 135 abstracts have been accepted and are presented in this issue of the Journal of NeuroVirology. The meeting to be held in Chicago, Illinois, from 3 - 6 June 1998, confirms the continued worldwide interest in this discipline. Presenting at this meeting will be clinicians and basic scientists from North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. In addition to the many internationally recognized investigators in this field, a large number of fresh, young investigators and established scientists who are new in the field of neurologic AIDS research, will be presenting their findings. With the presence of these new contributors to the field, we now fulfill the hopes entertained when this meeting was first conceived a decade ago. Not only was this meeting meant as a means to disseminate the latest information in the basic and clinical science of neurologic AIDS research, but also as a means to foster collaborations and to stimulate the entry of new investigators into the discipline.
