Statistical Methods for Prehospital Care Research
Abstract
Performing well-designed and properly analyzed clinical and systems research is the essential first step in improving out-of-hospital medical care, and only through such research can we better our understanding of the effectiveness of both current and innovative practices. Using efficient study designs and appropriate analytic techniques will ensure the quality of out-of-hospital research and will make the implementation of such research more rewarding for the clinical investigator. The purpose of this article is to present and explore concepts underlying the statistical design and analysis of clinical research in the out-of-hospital setting.
