The Annual Meeting of Friends Historical Association was held on Eleventh Month 27, 1967, at the Friends Meetinghouse, 20 South Twelfth Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Arthur E. James, President, welcomed members and their guests. During the brief business meeting members of the Board of Directors were re-elected and several standing committees made reports. Deep appreciation was expressed to Frederick B. Tolles for his eighteen years of service as Editor. The speaker for the evening was Henry J. Cadbury, one of the thirteen original founders of the American Friends Service Committee, on Fourth Month 30, 1917. He spoke informally on "The Role of the American Friends Service Committee in Quaker History." He reminded his listeners of the effects the Committee (still an "experimental organization") has had on Friends and their relationships with each other, and on Quaker contacts with other groups, both Christian and non-Christian. Some in the audience also had inter- esting comments to make on the history of the Committee. The meeting concluded with the customary refreshments. The five-year index to Volumes 51-55 (1962-1966) of Quaker History is now ready. Copies have been sent to all subscribing libraries. Any member of the Association who wants a copy may have one, free of charge, by writing to the office of Friends Historical Association, Haverford College Library, Haverford, Pennsylvania
