Design/methodology/approach – Draws on information gathered from the author's industry knowledge and experience. Findings – Argues that senior managers sometimes fail to understand how training needs to be different to meet the expectations and requirements of the different personalities in the organization. Practical implications – Explains how using flooding or drip‐feed techniques will have different outcomes for different personalities and helps managers to identify which is more suitable.
