Belgium
The Panathlon International Committee (www.panathlon.org) aiming to stimulate reflection on ethics in the sports
context invited Professor Yves Vanden Auweele (Faculty of Physical Education & Physiotherapy, KULeuven) to
collaborate on an interdisciplinary project examining children abuse in sport. The project will focus on support system
of the athlete involving sport physicians, officials, lawyers, pedagogues, and psychologists.
Professor Yves Vanden Auweele helped local psychologists to start a sport and exercise psychology course at the
Kinshasa University (Congo), June 2–9 2002 and at the Free State University (Bloemfontein, South Africa), July 13–
31 2002.
