The Panathlon International Committee (www.panathlon.org) aiming to stimulate reﬂection on ethics in the sports
context invited Professor Yves Vanden Auweele (Faculty of Physical Education & Physiotherapy, KULeuven) to
collaborate on an interdisciplinary project examining children abuse in sport. The project will focus on support system
of the athlete involving sport physicians, ofﬁcials, lawyers, pedagogues, and psychologists.
Professor Yves Vanden Auweele helped local psychologists to start a sport and exercise psychology course at the
Kinshasa University (Congo), June 2–9 2002 and at the Free State University (Bloemfontein, South Africa), July 13–
The Finnish Sport Psychology Association (SUPy), Finnish Psychological Union (Psychological Preparation Section),
Department of Physical Education, University of Jyva
; and Nuori Suomi Ry organized a seminar on “Children
and sport” in Helsinki on 19–20 April, 2002. The speakers were Professor Glyn Roberts from Norway (“How can
