This is not e of those books, rather few in number, that however it is thrown (I am suggesting that throwing is an appropriate fate) falls open at something which immediately catches the interest. At e and the same time a browser's book, this is a most useful compendium of the sort of informati that makes you surprised that no e ever properly compiled it before. The reass for that are made clear by Ty Rice in his Introductiâalthough ce available it causes e wder how academy ever did without it, the complexity (and occasially tedium) in compiling it were daunting. There is, of course, an unevenness the detail presented for the different vesselsâ it could hardly have been otherwise unless the appearance were be delayed indefinitely. Hopefully the lacunae and shortcomings in data will stimulate further research by the author and others, rather than suppress the feeling of need because of the existence of the work. Apart from the
