Pound and Eliot

Pound and Eliot a. Texts The event of the year is the publication of Poems and Translations, a handsome tome of over 1,300 perfect pages by the Library of America. Edited and extensively annotated by Richard Sieburth the volume contains poems and translations from 26 books published by Ezra Pound as well as from the hand-bound ‘‘Hilda’s Book,’’ the ‘‘San Trovaso’’ notebook, the translations of the Provençal poet Arnaut Daniel from an edition that was never published, and the versions of Sophocles’ Elektra prepared with Rudd Fleming. It also includes 76 poems not collected by Pound, 19 of which were not published during his lifetime, and the complete ‘Noh’ or Accomplishment, including Ernest Fenollosa’s important essay on the Noh edited by Pound.
