Ava Alkon is a doctoral student at Columbia University. She studies both in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and in the Department of Sociomedical Sciences of the Mailman School of Public Health, where she recently completed her MPH. She studies history and public health. Charles Barrilleaux is LeRoy Collins Professor of Political Science at Florida State University. His current research projects address questions surrounding the nexus of political institutions, policy making, and political behavior in U.S. state and local governments and include aggregate comparative studies, laboratory experiments, and field experiments. Paul Brace is the Clarence Carter Chair in Legal Studies in the Department of Political Science at Rice University. His research has appeared in the top political-science journals and in award-winning books and papers. He has won awards for his research, teaching, mentoring, and advising. Sherri A. Brown is a doctoral student and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Canada Graduate Scholar in the Department of Political Science at Simon Fraser University. Her doctoral research investigates the architecture, roles, and behavior of global institutions and actors in health governance, with a focus on HIV/AIDS and pharmaceuticals access in sub-Saharan Africa.
