Braunsteiner Medizinische Universitätsklinik Innsbruck Zusammenfassung: Zytochemische Methoden in Verbindung mit konventionellen lichtoptischen Untersuchungen stellen infolge der Breite ihres Anwendungsspektrums und ihrer Reproduzierbarkeit ein allgemein anerkanntes Verfahren zur Klassifizierung der akuten Leukämien dar. Ein Teil der unreifzelligen oder atypischen leukämischen Zellpopulationen kann anhand spezifischer Enzymaktivitäten oder spezifischer Zellbausteine sicher identifiziert werden. Bei anderen erlaubt die Darstellung charakteristischer zytochemischer Muster ebenfalls eine verläßliche Klassifizierung. Die Anwesenheit PAS-positiver Substanzen bei Fehlen anderer zytochemischer Spezifika charakterisiert die prognostisch relativ günstige ALL Diese und die ffzytochemisch undifferenzierte Leukämie" können durch Oberflächenmarker und biochemische Untersuchungen weiter spezifiziert werden. Auf die klinische Wertigkeit der zytochemischen Klassifizierung der akuten Leukämien wird hingewiesen.
