Weil C h a p m a n University A decade ago, with our colleague Deborah Sears, we were intrigued by the fact that our students did not seem to embrace the personal computer as a tool for helping them perform statistical calculations. At that time we began studying what we called "computer anxiety" or the fear of computers. In the past ten years we have evolved our thinking through a series of 25 studies of over 10,000 adults, college students, school teachers,
