This project aimed at developing an interactive Web-based multimedia courseware on the anatomy of the knee. A first prototype has been developed by Mr Nick Gallon in 1998/1999. We are currently looking for funding to help build on the prototype by making major additions and improvements. This project is a collaborative effort between the School of Medicine at Liverpool University and the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University. The motivation of the project stems from the fact that there are many in-depth research studies and courseware on the anatomy of the human body in general, but there are no such studies specialising in the Knee Anatomy. We believe such a resource is needed for both people working in the medical field and also as an educational package to the public. Some of the topics covered in the courseware are included in this article.
