FROM THE EDITOR The End... and The Beginning! Stephen N. Spencer Director for Publications The old saying goes something like this: Change is hard. You go first. Well, others have gone first, and now it s our turn. Not being first doesn t make it any easier, though. The decision to no longer present this wonderful content in printed form, and offer it exclusively on our organization s site at http://www.siggraph.org/, was not an easy one. Computer graphics is an inherently visual medium and being able to present still and moving images in a format better suited to their understanding is a wonderful opportunity, and one which we ve tried, with varying degrees of success, in the past. (Archives of past issues of the quarterly in Adobe Acrobat format, and a few HTML-formatted issues, are available on our site.) Timeliness of information is another opportunity we have; no longer constrained to the four-times-a-year print publication cycle, we can present information of interest to the SIGGRAPH membership and the computer graphics community much more efficiently. We will stay in touch, however, through regular e-mail communication, in an effort to keep you up to date on what s new
