It has been presented to the people who have done the most to further the role of APL, whether through implementation or education or any other significant means. Previous recipients of the SIGAPL award form an impressive group: Adin Falkoff; Garth Foster; Dan Dyer and Ian Sharp; Raymond Tisserand, Clark Wiedmann and Alex Morrow; Eugene McDonnell; Al Rose; Philip Van Cleave; Ray Polivka; Phil Abrams; Jim Brown; and Donald McIntyre. ACM SIGAPL is pleased to announce that the Kenneth E. Iverson Award for Distinguished Achievement in APL is shared in z995 by PeterDonndl3 and John Scholes for theirjoint work on the Dyalog APL product line. Dyalog APL was the first full-function APL for Unix systems and among the early commercial APL systems to support general arrays.
