The Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California is teaching undergraduate, liberal arts students about modern technology through a course in communications systems. The objective of the course is to demystify communication technology and give the student a fundamental knowledge of the workings of modern media. The use of such familiar examples as television, the telephone, and stereo excites student interest and curiosity and thus helps make the learning experience more meaningful.
