It will include a presentation of the characteristics of a competitive proposal and the proposal and review processes, and participants will be encouraged to explore their ideas with the presenters. 1. TOPICS We are actively seeking to increase both the number and competetiveness of proposals to the NSF CCLI (Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement) program. Funding for computer science education programs at NSF responds directly to the total proposal pressure, so increasing both the number of proposals and the competetiveness of those proposals will actually increase the amount of funding NSF will target towards computer science education. Most CCLI proposals come from faculty who attend or have attended the SIGCSE Symposium, and we want to help them be more successful. We consistently have over 100 participants at this type of session during SIGCSE; this year we intend to be somewhat more proactive and to concentrate more on helping participants develop their ideas into successful proposals.
