There are two steps that must be completed at this stage of the process. The first is completion of a petition of recognition, which is available from ACM headquarters by contacting Fran Sinhart at sinhart@acm.org. Your interim officers must also complete and submit the bylaws under which the chapter will operate. A template for writing the bylaws is available online at http://www.siggraph.org/chapters/ PC_Bylaws.html. Once completed, the petition and the bylaws should be forwarded to Fran Sinhart and Thierry Frey who will submit them to the appropriate committee for ratification. Keep the Momentum Going Once the chapter is up and running, the business of day-to-day management comes into play. The following is a list of minimum requirements each chapter has to meet: The chapter must host a minimum of four meetings per year. The easiest way to ensure this happens is to schedule regular meetings. For example, let members know that meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 7 10 p.m. at location X.
