SIGkids 94: A Conference Experience Nancy K. Ingle SIGkids Chair Two large 3D signs lure you towards Hall E: SIGkids - The EDGE. White foam core palm trees form a grand entrance - upon closer examination you see the reason for the Florida forest: the SIGkids art show is displayed on the trees. Thought provoking work, printed in a full size, full color format. These are serious works of art! Many seem far too sophisticated to be kids' works. You feel relieved that so many are reproduced in the Visual Proceedings and you can share them with your kids when you get home. The sounds and glow of Hall E capture your attention. Turning, you glance at a layout map of SIGkids and realize this will be an adventure. The Sky gallery above with many huge screens displaying images of both SIGkids and The Edge draw you in further. The sounds of music mixed with several constant tones and bright spotlights focused on groups of kids, let you know this is the place to be! The signs of SIGkids clearly proclaim: Future City, Cybersurf, The Circus and 27 more areas! At each area you see another smaller sign
