SIGBIO Annual Report Submitted by Ed Lamie August 10, 1998 SIGBIO joins the interests of computer scientists and professionals in the health and biological sciences, kdthough traditionally emphasizing medical informatics, SIGBIO has expanded its scope to include other topics, such as multimedia and molecular databases. SIGBIO has operated primarily as a "Newsletter" SIG and has co-sponsored several conferences. For the past four years, SIGBIO has co-sponsored the Symposium on Applied Computing and has conducted a session track on Biomedical Computing. In the spring of 1997, elections were conducted for the officers of SIGBIO. Following are the elected officers.
