[CITIDEL '02] CITIDEL provides access to collections of computing materials that are in turn located and maintained at other sites. CITIDEL was one of the early collections funded by NSDL and experienced the pains of early adopters. By the time of ITiCSE, the transfer of the CITIDEL architecture to the well-supported DSpace system will be complete. CITIDEL combines access to remote collections, local collection of materials submitted to the Computer Science Teaching Collection, and facility for submitting new resources. These are recent enhancements to the CITIDEL architecture and assure its continued growth and development. This poster will describe the system, its use and its expected future. Among its advantages, CITIDEL allows browsing of resources according to the body of knowledge defined in the ACM/IEEE-CS CC2001. This is a direct connection between the resources available and the immediate needs of faculty developing courses. CITIDEL provides pointers to a broad range of materials, from syllabi and lecture notes to refereed journal publications. CITIDEL makes it easy for an individual to share a good piece of work and to see what colleagues are creating to support a particular class. JOURNAL PUBLICATION OF LEARNING MATERIALS Easy presentation of materials in CITIDEL provides a valuable resource for faculty searching for course materials. However, there is also a role for archival materials that have been fully refereed. The ACM Journal of Educational Resources in Computing (JERIC) provides this mechanism. The unique feature of JERIC, an online publication, is the ability to publish materials such as simulators, class presentation materials and other tools in addition to text about the use of the material. ACM has granted free access to the materials in JERIC to those who access it through CITIDEL. This poster will also summarize the contents of the first few years of JERIC as the terms of the founding editors (the submitters of this poster proposal) come to a close. This poster will introduce CITIDEL attendees to the features and services available through ACM JERIC and NSDL CITIDEL. ABSTRACT This poster describes the publication of educational resources in ACM s online Journal for Educational Resources in Computing (JERIC) and the US National Science Foundation s National STEM Digital Library (NSDL).. On-line publication. 1. INTRODUCTION All parts of the computing discipline are characterized by rapid change, by need to update teaching materials frequently, by need to keep abreast of new developments, and by the need to incorporate new materials into even the most standard courses. There are several options available to find materials created by others and to share the results of each person s efforts. Two important options offer help both in finding new materials to incorporate into course work and in publishing the results of a faculty member s efforts. 2. A DIGITAL LIBRARY FOR MATERIALS SHARING The Computer and Information Technology Digital Education Library (CITIDEL) is the computing resource collection of the United States National Science Foundation s National Science Digital Library (NSDL). (Though funded and built in the US, the NSDL has no borders and is a resource available to the world. NSDL was established by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2000 as a free online library which directs users to exemplary resources for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and research.[NSDL The National Science Digital Library, '06] CITIDEL, in turn, provides the computing content to NSDL. The CITIDEL goal is to operate, and maintain a part of the NSDL that will serve the computing education community in all its diversity and at all levels. This will include computer science, information Copyright is held by the author/owner(s). ITiCSE'06, June 26 28, 2006, Bologna, Italy. ACM 1-59593-055-8/06/0006. 3.
