Review of Dyalog APL/W, Version 7.1 --byGregg W. Taylor Dallas, Texas YADICSYSTEMS, LTD., released Version 7.1 of their PC/ Windows product as a free upgrade to owners of Version 7.o in the middle of May. Quite a few enhancements have been made, including: expansion of namespaces; extension of the Grid object; )XLOAD; more APL2-compatible language extensions; and several smaller usability features. New hard-copy documentation does not ship with this version, but readily available help text may be found in a "Help" menu item, which adequately describes all the new and changed features of this release. Of special note is that Version 7.1 workspaces are not compatible with earlier versions of the interpreter, so sharing workspaces with earlier versions isn't trivial. It is, however, possible to covert to older formats by using the supplied workspaces D W S I N and DWSOUT. Returned from [3NS is the full namespace identifier, starting at the root. Placing an object in a namespace is accomplished by using DNS: 'RST' ONS 'FUNCI' D or, creating as you place it: RST.DED 'FUNOI' or even GED 'RST.FUNCi' Checking for functions in this namespace is done by: RST.DNL Namespaces Dyadic claims that they have been working
