Workshop Summaries Report on COLT 1994 Prepared by: Thomas Zeugmann Research Institute of Fundamental Information Science Kyushu University 33 Fukuoka 812, Japan The Seventh Annual ACM Conference on Computational Learning Theory (COLT'94) was held on July 12 through 15 at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick. All total, 126 people registered for the conference including 43 student registrations. The technical program comprised 24 long papers and 12 short papers/posters that were selected from 78 submitted papers by S. Arnari, A. Blum, N. Bshouty, W. Gasarch, T. Hancock, M. Kearns, S. Solla, P. Tadepalli, J. Vitter, M. Warmuth (chair), and T. Zeugmann. The new feature and experience that could be en eyed by the participants was the co-location of COLT'94 and the Eleventh International Conference on Machine Learning (ML'94). There were two overlapping days of both conferences. At those days the majority of both communities gathered to hear all talks and as a result, we had a lot of fruitful discussions. Moreover, S. Muggleton of Oxford University and F.C.N. Pereira of AT & T, the invited speakers of ML'94, presented their talks on the days overlapping with COLT'94. The invited speaker of COLT'94 was M.
