Journals ACM SIGCHI Bulletin Volume 25 Issue 1

Forty user interface experts from Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia participated in this working conference with the aim of investigating the nature, concepts, and construction of user interfaces for software systems. For five days, we held formal presentations, small working groups, and informal discussions about UIMS architecture, user studies, user interface adaptability, multimodality, and design guidelines. Under the direction from the athletic Finns, we also sweated in saunas, jumped into lakes, jogged in the rain, and rowed what seemed to be halfway to Great Britain.
