The curriculum for CBIS should be different from the fundamentals of computer science (CS1 and CS2) because of the students backgrounds. This paper discusses a project-centered teaching method for CBIS for BA students. Following three years of experience with this approach, the feedback from more than 500 students is encouraging. 1. Introduction Computer-based information systems (CBIS) are a vital tool for managers in making decisions [8, 9], and for end users having to produce and manage information [1]. Therefore, we normally consider the topic of CBIS a compulsory course in business schools. Unlike the introductory courses for computer science (CS1 and CS2), which covered specific technologies or programming languages in depth [3, 6], CBIS introduces the students and provides a broader knowledge of information technologies.
