Process Management and Project Managemen t The session was intended to focus on a number of questions : ¢ what are process and project management? Are they different? How are they different ? ¢ How does software process management improve software project management an d results of project management? ¢ How can we capitalize on existing project management skills ? Mark Dowson opened the session with a discussion of the similarities and differences betwee n process management and project management . There is substantial existing experience in software project management that we should recogniz e and use . Software projects are completed, many of them successfully, and people
