My name is Marc Rotenberg and I am the director of the Washington Office of Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility (CPSR) . CPSR is a national membership organization of computer scientists and other specialists that seek to inform the public about the social impact of computer systems . Our membership includes a Nobel Laureate and five Turing Award winners, the highest honor in computer science. CPSR members have examined several national computing issues and prepared reports on funding priorities in computer science, the Strategic Defense Initiative, computer risk and reliability, and the proposed expansion of the FBI's records system .'
