General remarks Documentation on the graphical package is not supplied with the written documentation that comes with J. The best source to start learning the graph package is probably file p l o t . p d f , which, at the time of writing, only describes a restricted set of all the options in version 3. We also found useful information in the examples shown in plotdemo.js (in path system/Examples/Graphics/ p l o t / ) and in theJ forum (in particular, information about the "keystyle"-option). The most detailed recent information is found in the Help. Look for [HelplUserlPlot], in particular under the topics of PlotType, PlotCommands and PlotOptions. In order to use the graphical toolset of J, one should first import the required programs in the workspace. This can be done either by: " l o a d ' p l o t ' " or by " r e q u i r e ' p l o t ' " To create a particular plot one can either use program p 1 o t or program pd.
