the deadline will be included among your fondest memories of college. Finally, you may be worried that all you will ever do - in college and beyond - will be programming. Not so! Computer science involves much more than programming. In a nutshell, it's about finding interesting and innovative ways to solve problems. Dr. Prey has already listed several avenues that you might pursue with a computer science degree. To those career opportunities, I would add a general observation. With a computer science degree, you will have the opportunity to be a participant in some of the great debates and decisions that are occurring (and will continue to occur) in our society. You could be part of issues involving the ethical use of computing technology, the disparity in access to information between people in different socioeconomic classes, and the global community that the internet has fostered, just to name a few. This seems like a good place to rest my case. I hope I have been able to assuage some of your concerns, and maybe even help you nudge computer science up your priority list of majors. Good luck!
