(That's why non-US users often refer to Ada 87 rather than Ada 83.) W h e n the Ada 9x language revision effort began, it was decided to p e r f o r m its standardization within the international organization with coordination from U.S. standards orgsnlzations. Responsihility for A d a standardization was assigned to ISO/IEC J T C I I S C 2 2 / W G 9 . That odd name is actually a slice through an organization chart.
