One of the least publicized but no less important activities of SIGDA has been the formation of local SIGDA groups across the country. With a strong, grassroots network in place, the goals and interests of all members can be shared on a local basis. In addition to national meetings like the DAC and ICCAD, and various workshops, the availability of a local SIGDA organization provides another level of ongoing professional interaction. For the national directorate, the network could be used to disseminate information, provide national officer candidates, host regional meetings, and most important, give comments and criticism on SIGDA itself.
