Journals ACM SIGAPL APL Quote Quad Volume 32 Issue 2

A control structure is described which is more APL-ish than the currently implemented keywords. It is much more in the spirit of APL because it merges all conventional control concepts into one single concept represented by one single symbol "∇". The result is more simple and yet more powerful. Various paragraphs will show how to do all the conventional control structuring with this new primitive. The theoretical exposition concludes with a practical paragraph that summarises how much of the proposal is currently available in the APL implementation APL2C.
