Passing the Turing Test is not a proof of machine intelligence. Failing to pass the Turing Test does not demonstrate the failure of AI. It is time for the Turing test to be replaced by something better. T u r i n g ' s Test Let us review what exactly the Turing Test is, as it was originally proposed in Turing's 1950 article [7]. Turing proposed the question "Can machines think?" He found the question unsatisfactorily formulated, perhaps because it was unclear how one might judge the answer one way or the other.
