That's why he carries a second chute. I watched a man fall to within seconds of death while waiting for his chute to open. At the last moment it did and he landed safely. When asked why he didn't try to open his second chute, he said, "I didn't want to have to bother repacking it." I made a brief mental note never to hire this person.
