The 1981 Fredkin Match was between Belle, the winner of all recent computer chess competitions and Carl Storey, a Canadian Master with a rating of 2204. A master was chosen for the first time in this series of competitions since Belle was clearly in a class by itself and had already beaten more Masters that it had lost to. However, Mr. Storey prepared himself very well for this match, and unlike his predecessors in the 1980 Fredkin Matches proved to be completely dominant.
