It is the goal of this paper to make some useful inferences about the motivation of EDP professionals. This paper assumes Expectancy Theory (Vroom, 1964, Porter & Lawler, 1968; Lawler, 1971) as the basic construct for the motivation model. Reviewing some recent research to determine specific components of the behavior of EDP professionals, the model and its application in this specific field is discussed.
