Disseminating Information via Web 2.0 Nazli Hardy Assistant Professor, Computer Science Millersville University Nazli.Mollah@Millersville.edu Dear Colleagues, It is wonderful to connect with you and have the opportunity to interact on our shared interests in all aspects of our profession. As a brief introduction, my research interests are currently in network efficiency and security, as well as bioinformatics (biodiversity informatics), Internet programming (the use of Web 2.0 technologies to disseminate information) and certainly pedagogy in the CS curriculum. I am involved in endeavors to attract women in math and science, and to introduce applications of computer science to students in high school. My website provides more detailed information. As a relatively new faculty member, I am very interested to collaborate with colleagues in any of these endeavors. My contact information is below; I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Nazli Nazli Hardy, MBA, Ph.D. Millersville University, Millersville, PA 17551, USA http://cs.millersville.edu/faculty/profdetails.php?pid=11 ******************** Teaching Social Implications of Computing Brian Harvey Lecturer, EECS University of California at Berkeley bh@cs.berkeley I'm Brian Harvey; I'm a Lecturer with Security of Employment in the EECS Department at the University of California at Berkeley. (The strange title means that I'm a full-time teacher, but basically tenured, although I'm not supposed to call it that. There aren't very many of us: 17 on the Berkeley campus.) My main teaching assignment is our first course for CS majors, based on the Abelson and Sussman text from MIT. But I also teach "Social Implications of Computers," a course that was retired along with the professor who first taught it, and that I campaigned unsuccessfully to revive for several years until ABET, our accrediting agency, won the battle for me by complaining about the lack of ethics in our curriculum.
