The Pacific Graphics and Korea Computer Graphics Society played an important role here - they placed stepping stones for Koreans to reach an international level of graphics research in a very short time. In the past few years we have seen a steady increase in the number of research publications by Korean authors in major graphics conferences and journals. In this article, you will gain insight into how these fast advances have been possible in Korea. Introduction The speed at which Koreans have established their current research status in computer graphics would be comparable to the miracle of the Korean economy.
