Computer Graphics in Enchanting New Mexico By Gwen Sylvan, Secretary, Rio Grande ACM/SIGGRAPH with Catie Angell, Bruce Papier, and Ed Angel ention that you live and produce computer graphics in New Mexico, and the response is often one of confusion and raised eyebrows. There are some who can't imagine what could possibly exist here among the desert, chiles, and cowboys. There are those who aren't even sure if it is part of the United States or part of Mexico. And there m'e those who believe that Santa Fe is the only town in the state. The Rio Grande ACM/SIGGRAPH is a professional chapter comprised of very talented and creative people who live in New Mexico and western Texas. What is unique about this group is not only its geographical expanse and its ability to draw members to meetings and the annual Expo from great distances, but that its membership truly reflects the spirit of the region.
