For those of you who are interested in scholarly articles on Ada and/or Software engineering, please accept my apologies for wasting your time and do not waste any more of it by reading further. My focus is on what needs to be done to transfer Aria, which is an elegant and useful technology, from predominantly military uses to civilian commerce. I will start by mentioning two examples of how not to market Ada. The first is the familiar picture of Ada, Countess of Lovelace in that horrible Victorian cap. Tartan is to be commended for morphing Aria to the present. The second example is the motto for Tri-Ada '95, "Ada's Role in Global Markets: Solutions For A Changing Complex World." Another version is "Ada A Language For A Complex World". I absolutely agree that both versions of this statement are correct. However, from
